Peshkar puts participation at the heart of its work, running a number of programmes to support and develop participant’s creativity in both formal and informal education settings. We are keen to develop young people as artists and offer them the opportunity of theatre arts as a platform for personal fulfilment. We exist also to support professional development of young people in the Oldham area in whatever field of the creative industries they are interested in. We operate an open house policy and are keen to engage with any young people from a BME background who are interested in getting involved in our new writing, professional development or youth theatre programmes. 

Peshkar is keen to support participants in both their personal and professional development and offers opportunities and mentoring to enhance this. 

There are a number of ways you can get involved, but please don’t feel restricted by what you see here. If you have an idea of a way we can support or develop you or you just plain have an idea, please ask us about it. Peshkar is keen to work collaboratively with you.

Dance without Movement

This witty and sensitive solo show written by our female artist in residence, Sophia Rashid. 'Dance without Movement' details the story of a young Pakistani woman and the roles and responsibilities she has to adapt to in modern Britain.
