But I got away with it
‘But I Got Away with it’ is the title of the latest play by Oldham’s award winning Peshkar Productions. The play is written by Yorkshire based Asian writer Conor Ibrahim and tells the story of Jo Jo, a young man who has a reckless attitude to cars and whose irresponsible actions have serious implications for those around him.
Produced in association with the Unity Partnership and due to tour the local Oldham community for two weeks in mid-June, the project has a full workshop programme attached and is designed to offer young people enhanced pedestrian skills training and to highlight the growing dangers of reckless behaviour on our roads.
Said Vicky Bell, Peshkar’s Education & Outreach manager who has also directed the piece, “the project is a fantastic way of engaging young people on the importance of road safety. We are delighted to be a partner on a project that will impact so positively on the lives of a range of young people in the Oldham area.”
